After a week in freezing temps, it began to warm up. B asserted we should ’embrace Alaska’ by venturing out to enjoy the balmy 40s. & So we did, with boats and bikes in tow. In the past week fall has continued it’s progression and we have reached Yellow! Golden yellow. Beautiful.
Though it began to drizzle a bit when we got off the water, we decided to bike for a bit anyway. Couldn’t help but be reminded of Dorothy’s trip in Oz…the leaves falling steadily.
& Then B spotted this beaver, swimming… All together we saw a LOT of fish (a guy who had just put his line in when we were getting out of the water said he was catching them every-other-cast) & a beaver moving stuff around.
I’m still hopeful that some day I’ll see more moose; so far since living here I have only seen one briefly around the corner from our house. B on the other hand has had to stop for them in the road during his morning commute…and even while visiting students at one of the military bases. There’s something charming about a moose stopping traffic at the military base, right?

Everyone of these photos are amazing and beautiful. I love the fall colors and water reflections.
